Spillanes from Dunmanway Co. Cork to US.
I'm trying to trace the Spillane family from Knockduff, Dunmanway Co. Cork. At least 4 or 5 siblings of my husband's g.grandfather emigrated to the US in the late 1800's, early 1900's. They were the children of Patsy Spillane and Margaret (Barbara) Crowley.
They were;-
Timothy - born 20th August 1861 - we know he married and had at least 2 children Patrick and a girl. We believe the girl married a Madden.
Mary - born 18th July 1863
Ellen - born 24th April 1870
One of the above married a French and the other married a Graham. There was a cousin of my husband's grandmother Barbara Hayes nee Spillane called Pat French and at one point he lived in or near Union City, New Jersy.
Johanna (Ann)- born 1st July 1868 - she marrieda Frank Reed and had 5 children, Charley, Frank, Tommy, Mary and Bill. We know Charley married and had 5 kids, Mary Reed married a Bill Thomas and had 3 kids.
The remaining members of the Spillane family stayed in the Dunmanway area. If anyone has any info on what happened to the above Spillane's I would love to hear from you.
