Think Mary Spindler Gore was born ca. 1790, whereas Nicholas and Jacob, brothers, were born in 1760s. This suggests different generations. Nicholas' daughter Mary is mentioned as Mary Mecay in 1841 estate settlement. This Mary was born in 1803. Perhaps in court records, if this is indeed a sister to Jacob and Nicholas, she would have been very young at the time of her father's death in 1800 and would have had a guardian? Both Nicholas and Jacob, brothers,
were heads of households in 1790 Census, with
1 daughter each. Jacob Sr. also had a female
besides his wife living in his household,
presumed to be Mary, sister to Nicholas & Jacob. Of course, there's always brother George, the eldest...he had three females in his household! I'm confusing myself!
Hope this makes some sense! If it does, let
me know!!
