I have information on a Spindler family from England. My Great grandfather is Rueben Spindler, the youngest son of Joseph Spindler,b 1814 and Elizabeth Hill,b 1817 from Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, England area. They had 11 children; William,b Abt1838, Ann,b Abt1841, Richard,b Abt1844, Joseph,b Abt 1846, Benjamin,b Abt1848, George,b Abt 1849, Elizabeth,b 17Apr1850, Maria,b 17Jul1853, John,b 23Nov1855, Arthur,b Abt 1857, Reuben,b 27Mar1860.
Joseph Sr and Elizabeth came to Canada and settled for a time just outside Lucknow,Ashfield Twp,Huron Co.,Ontario, Canada along with their sons Reuben and John. Others of the family may have come over at the same time but at this time I do not have the information.
Rueben and his future wife Margaret Jane Pagan were both in Duluth prior to being married in Ashfield Twp, Huron Co., Ontario.
My sister has received a trunk that had pictures of possible Spindler family members, taken by a photography shop in Duluth. The trunk was passed down from Margaret Jane Spindler to her eldest daughter Gladys May Wallace, to her youngest son and my uncle Andrew Alexander Wallace, to my sister Margaret Jane Wallace. I have known that there must have been Spindler family members around Duluth but had no idea where to start.
Recently I have been in contact with a relative that is decended from Arthur Edward Spindler. He has information in regards to the naturalization record for Edward and George Spindler, occuring in Duluth.
From the dates for George William Spindler, I think that he is probably the son of one of the older Spindler brothers. Especially if he was born in England.
I also have the names for the parents of Joseph (Sr) and Elizabeth (Sr). The (Sr) is my way to indicate the parents of this Spindler family as they had both a Joseph and Elizabeth as children.
I am willing to share any information that I have on the Spindlers. I can be contacted at the email address listed.
