Do you know where your Benjamin Spindler came from?
I am trying to trace a Spindler family that came from the Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, England area. The parents Joseph Spindler and Elizabeth Hill came to Canada with their three youngest sons; John, Edward and Rueben in the late 1870's. As they are found with Rueben and John, the 1881 Census, Province of Ontario,Dist.175 N. Huron,S Dist 2F Ashfield Film # C13274 Nat Archives of Canada,
Family 322 Pg.71 ( known today as Lucknow, Ontario).
I know that Edward had gone to the US and was naturalized in Duluth. I beleive that other children of Joseph and Elizabeth may have settled in the US or Canada. I know that some of the family were definitely in Duluth, on Rueben's marriage certificate it mentions that he was in Duluth prior to his marriage. My sister also has pictures from a photo studio in Duluth.
Could your William be related to Joseph and Elizabeth?
I am trying to track down the decendents of the children of Joseph and Elizabeth.
