Spindler Family Genealogy Forum
The Geo. Friedr. Spindler entry in Virkus is part of the genealogy of Frederick Focke Reese, who lived in Baltimore MD. There are 6 generations of Reese' children and ancestors. He follows Reese's ancestry through Margaret Ann Spindler (Reese grandmother). Virkus always tries to trace back to an emigrant and stops there, so he doesn't follow the Spindlers beyond Henry Jacob Spindler "from Germany".
Since this is Baltimore, there is a good chance that Geog. Friedr. Spindler is the one from Manchester. Then we know his father and a daughter too. But then Georg Jacob, who we guessed was the father, must be a married brother or uncle.
There is another Jacob at Zion's church in Manchester who could be the father and recent emigrant. The typewritten copy of the church records that I looked at (Family History Center film (1428444-4) lists the church membership in 1762, including Jacob Spindel. But I have some reservations. There are a lot of Spindel entries in the VA census, so I tend to think Spindlel is a separate surname. This Jacob could be unrelated. Or the spelling could be in error? Have you seen the original handwritten entry for this record?
