No, I've not seen the original. "Settlers of
MD 1751-1765", Peter Wilson Coldham, 1996, lists a JACOB SPINDLER warranting 30 acres
on tract 'Alsace' in Balt.Co. on 28 Jun 1760.
Another entry: JOHN SPEEDLER 20 acres of
tract 'Chance' 13 Apr 1767, and 80 acres of
tract 'Valley of Jehosaphat' 10 Sep 1766, Baltimore Co. And JACOB SPINDLE [SPINDLER] 268 acres 'Candle' 5 Apr 1774 and 70 acres
'Jacob's New Design' 1 Apr 1774, Balt.Co.
In "Balt.Co.MD 1798 Assessment List" by Rbt.
Barnes (window tax): Geo.Spindler 'Spindler's
Chance'; Nich's Spindler 'Jacob's New Design'; Jacob Spindler pt.'Candle'; and
John Spindler pt.'Candle.'It would seem that
the 'Candle Tract' of Jacob Spindler 1774 is
the same one split up between Jacob and John 1798.

If the 'Chance' tract of John Speedler 1767
is the same as 'Spindler's Chance,' then
perhaps there are earlier Spindlers to Balt.
than the Jacob Spindler who arrived 1770.
(Where does that info come from?) And there
is a Jacob Spindler in 1760, or at
least patenting land there. Are these originally Penna.Spindlers drifting over to MD?
