The book Rhineland Emigrants, Don Yoder, editor, 1985 has an article called Personalia from the Amerikanischer Correspondent 1826-1828. This was published in Philadelphia. The advertisements on 28 Oct 1826 included this one: "Letters from Germany are available, upon payment of costs, at the European-German forwarding Agency, addressed to the following persons" One of these was "Jakob Spindler from Strassburg."
I hope he picked up his letter.
