I have found a little information for you.
William J. Spinola was born 7 ARP 1923 in Jamica, Queens County, NY and he died 24 NOV 1991 in the Central General Hospital, Oyster Bay, NY. He is buried in Pinelawn Memorial Park. He was married to Lorraine Helen Ocepa.

William J. was the son of Edward C. Spinola, born 18 JUN 1896 in Salerno, Italy. William's mother was Suaan. I have not come across her last name but she was from Sicily.

Edward was the son of James and Mary Spinola. James and Mary were also from Italy. I have found 2 census records from queens. One from 1910 and one from 1920. Although names are different, I believe they are the same person. The dates, while different, are so close, and the names went from the Italian form to the English. I do not know this for sure, but I would be willing to bet it is so. The Italian name on the 1910 Census is Gelsomina, and the females name is Mina. I believe these could be taken for James and Mary.

Hope this gives some light.
