Besides my husband's great grandfather, Johannes Sponheimer, and great grandmother, Madeline Hoppel, from Bavaria,Germany, we anxious to find any other ancestors or relatives, in Germany or in the U.S. My husband and I both grew up in the Long Island, New York area. My husband's father John Fredrick,b. Nov. 1902 and d.Nov. 1988 and grandfather, Frederick, b. Sept. 1878 and d. on Jan 31, 1943. I believe, both lived in the Brooklyn, N.Y.C. area.

My husband father, John F. Sponheimer had four brothers, I believe who we know very little about. We would love to know more. I believe that the brothers were all buried in the Lutheran Cemetery in Middle Village. I believe that one brother was Charles, another was Christian who died 10/12/1919, Louis who died 3/2/1913(I think), and another who may have been a child, who died June 1891. John F.'s father, Frederick, was married to Katherine(Katarina) Witt. Don't know if she came from Germany or if just her ancestors did, was born Nov. 1873. We are anxious to find information on any of these people and to find any more relatives or ancestors Thanks alot again. Marilyn G.Sponheimer
