Elizabeth Spoonamore (b. ca.1814, KY)

Looking for info on Elizabeth SPOONAMORE & her parents.

Daniel Oliver was either the 2nd or 3rd husband of my 2xgr-grandmother Elizabeth Spoonamore. Her first husband, if there was one before Daniel Oliver, would have been a J. Spoonamore. There is a big question about this because in the book: "Record of Marriages In Anderson Co., KY", it lists Daniel & Elizabeth's marriage, & gives her father's name as John Spoonamore. So, was she a Spoonamore that married a Spoonamore & had 2 daughters by him? Or was she a Spoonamore who had 2 daughters out of wedlock, then married Daniel Oliver?

In a census it lists Elizabeth's father as born in Maryland, & her mother in Virginia.

Elizabeth's first daughter Barbara Ann Spoonamore (b. 1 Jan 1843, KY; d. 1 Oct 1931, Nowata, Nowata Co., OK; bur. south of Childers, Nowata Co., OK--Ball Cemetery), m. 13 July 1863 in Edgar Co., IL to Harvey Murphy (b.17 Nov 1835, Edgar Co., IL; d.24/25 Feb 1917, Nowata, Nowata Co., OK; bur. south of Childers, Nowata Co., OK--Ball Cemetery). I found their marriage certificate, it's definitely them, but the certificate gives her name as "Miss Ann LOGAN", instead of Spoonamore.

Elizabeth's 2nd dau.(my gr-grandmother) Mary Jane Spoonamore (b.25 Apr 1845-1847, KY; d.4 Oct 1932, Longton, Elk Co., KS; bur. 5 Oct 1932, Oak Valley, Elk Co., KS Cemetery), m. 6 Sept 1864 in Macon Co., IL--Harvey Murphy's brother Elias Murphy (b. 17 May 1833, Edgar Co., IL; d.21 Nov 1912, Oak Valley, Elk Co., KS; bur. Oak Valley, Elk Co., KS Cemetery). Mary Jane's marriage record gives her maiden name as Spoonamore, & in her family Bible she listed both Barbara & her own maiden name as Spoonamore (not Logan). I, & a few others, have been researching this puzzle for a long time with no answers, yet. It is so confusing!!!

Here's the info I have on Daniel & Elizabeth (Spoonamore) Oliver. I only add this because someone may be able to make a connection through the Oliver's.

Daniel Oliver (b. 9 Mar 1800, WV or VA; d. 25 Apr 1878?; bur. Oak Valley, Elk Co., KS Cemetery), m. 14 Aug 1851, in Anderson Co., KY to Elizabeth Spoonamore (b. 25 July 1814--1817, KY; d. 10/11 Mar 1883, on Hickory Creek near Longton, Elk Co., KS; bur. Oak Valley, Elk Co., KS Cemetery). To this union were born 4 children:

1. William J. Oliver (b. 10 Mar 1852, Anderson Co., KY), m. May HAMILL (b. 8 May 1888, Cambridge, Cowley Co., KS; d. 17 Feb 1972, Denver, CO).

2. Cornelius "Neal" Oliver (b. 13 Dec 1853, Anderson Co., KY; d. Stroud, Lincoln Co., OK), m. Margaret M. __?__ (b. 19 Feb 1864, OH; d. 14 Jan 1910, OK).

3. Almeda Jane Oliver (b. 1856, KY; d. 1945, Ottawa, Franklin Co., KS; bur. Oak Valley, Elk Co., KS Cemetery), m. 3 July 1873, Wilson Co., KS to Dennis D. MORRIS (b. 8 Jan 1847, IL; d. 7 Feb 1887, near Oak Valley, Elk Co., KS; bur. Oak Valley, Elk Co., KS). Note: Dennis Morris was the son of another one of my direct lines---Mathew & Mary (Hensley) Morris.

4. Tabitha A. Oliver (b. ca.1859, KY), m. 14 June 1876, Hickory Creek, Elk Co., KS to John E. SNYDER (no info on him).

Hope someone can help with a connection &/or added info on any of the above people.
