Jacob Sponheimer or SPoonamore (Philip-2;Frederick-1) Elizabeths father was born c. 1778 in Maryland;died c. October 1855, Anderson County, Kentucky. He was a boy about 10 years old when he traved with his family over the Wilderness Road to the Kentucky Frontier. Jacob Maried 22 March 1810, Lincoln County, Ky., Rachel Painter, who was born c. 1787, in Virginia, probably in Shenandoah County as her parents, Joshua and Elizabeth Painter, were residing there at that time. Rachel's family removed to Lincoln County, Ky., c. 1807. Jacob Spoonamore's name appears on the tax rolls of Lincoln County for the year 1800 and continues to 1844, at which time he sold his property in Lincoln County and mmoved to Anderson County, Kentucky where he spent his remaining years. On the 1850 census enumeration, his occupaton is listed as that of a farm.
