I don't know if this will help you any. According to family legend, Emma Smith was married five times. One of the marriages was to John Frey, and my wife's ggrandfather was born to that marriage. His name was William, and he was given at age 8 to a family named Hutchinson. They gave him the name William Hutchinson. I don't know what city in Iowa this transpired in, but William Hutchinson raised his family in Keokuk, Iowa.

Emma Smith must have married William Sponsler after this, because the family remembers visiting "Willie" Sponsler and his wife, Emma, in Ottumwa, Iowa. He had a jewelry store there.

Does any of this correlate with your data? If so, please let me know, as my wife's family is very vague about details of this, and we are trying to dig out the facts.
