Hi: I am looking for more information about the families mentioned here.

A mid-ninteenth century family bible of a prominent York, Pennsylvania, the Sponslers, with connections to the Singer family, also of York. The bible was published in 1853.

BIRTHS: Joseph D. Sponsler - Mar 26, 1823; Sarah Sponsler - Aug 17, 1814; Issac Augustus Sponsler - April 3, 1846; Ambrose Sponsler - July 18, 1849; Elizabeth Sponsler - Mar 18, 1851; William Sponsler - Jan 1, 1854; Anna Anastasia Sponsler - Jan 30, 1856; Sylvester Egle Sponsler - Feb 25, 1859;

DEATHS: Elizabeth Sponsler - Mar 25, 1857; William Sponsler - Mar 28, 1857, Catherine Foose, daughter of Sarah Sponsler - Apr 1, 1846 - age 6 years. 21 days; Sarah Sponsler - May 13, 1898; Joseph D. Sponsler - Oct 19, 1896; Joseph D. Sponsler, Jr - killed by train - Oct 1, 1907; Sylvester Egle Sponsler - Feb 8, 1933

Hopefully someone can shed more light on these people.
If you want to see the bible you can go to historypast and look up bibles or the name sponsler.

Thanks, I like to play detective.

Paul
