The Sprigg section consists of 73 pages and seems to be very well indexed. I find no Robert Sprigg; nor do I find your John or Susan West. There are many named Thomas and William; no way with the limited information to even guess as to a connection to your John. I finds no references to Berkeley County, Virginia; none to West Virginia. There are a few references to Washington County, Maryland, but I don't find Thomas or William there.

Ancestry.com has browseable copy. If you are not a member, I would suggest you borrow a copy of the book through inter-library loan.

Sorry I can't be of help. With a little more specific information, I'd be glad to try again. Do you have any other related surnames?
