It is interesting to see that 1836 and 1843 are the two earliest land purchases. The majority of other purchases are in 1850 when my ancestors (who were not listed anywhere for land purchases...maybe they lived with someone)arrived in Southern Illinois according to my family information. Does anyone here know what caused the migration in 1850 of so many families?
