I have found that the World Family Tree is not always accurate. The fact that Abner did not name her as Sally Grissom might seem logical if there was not such a long space of time (1820-1840). The 1820 census of Wilson County TN contains several men who might have been her father: Abner, Benjamin, John and Moses. There was also an Aaron Spring who died there in 1815 but only one heir, Eliza, a minor child in 1824 is found in the records. I am NOT saying that Abner was definitely not Sarah's father, only that there is no written proof (other than the will which does not definitely name her) and there are other possibilities. The will of Wiatt Lindsey names Benjamin Spring as his friend and Rowland W. Grissom was a witness to the will. That is the only record that I have found connecting a Spring to a known Grissom (Rowland is believed to be the brother of Philip).
