Hi Gloria,
I'm very sorry to hear about your father.
There are some graves near Bethel Church also over in the weeds on Whipporwill Rd. One year there had been a fire in the woods and the stones were visible from the road. I saw them but, wasn't wearing long pants or boots and was too scared of the snakes to go investigate.
Going south on Somers Church road and turning west (right) onto Whipporwill road, the graves are on the right hand side of the road (south side). If I remember right they are just past the railroad tracks, it could not be that I'm not remembering that part just right. Anyways they should be visible in the winter or maybe someone will see this who's brave enough and go find them. The old home my grandfather John Travelstead and his wife Susi Merrell used to live in was on the same side of the road and , but it's gone now and a trailer is there. The trailer is closer to Bethel than the graves are. The old home was sold to John and Susi by her mother Sarah Springs Merrell, sister of Marshall, so these could be Springs graves as I believe all that property around belonged to Sarah and Marshall's elders and given and sold to their children.
Maybe next time I'm down there I can try and find out.
