Yesterday, May 14, 2007 I received word from the Quabbin Visitor Center at Winsor Dam in Belchertown, MA which houses the vital records for Greenwich, Hampshire Co., MA which was destroyed with 3 other towns to put in the Quabbin Reservoir in 1939. They sent me verification that Philatheta Spring is the daughter of Isaac B. Spring and his wife Percis. (Her maiden name might be Gibbs as their first borns middle name is Gibbs). Philatheta was born 3 Nov 1791 in Greenwich and had a marriage intention on 14 Dec 1810 with David Merritt of Canada. Other siblings are: Jacob Gibbs born 12 Mar 1779, Rhoda born 25 Dec 1781, John born 24 Feb 1785, Kezia born 6 Apr 1788, Isaac B born 17 Nov 1794 and Alfee born 12 Aug 1797. Kezia had a marriage intention with Benjamin Merritt (date to come) and he was from Brumpton in Canada. (I didn't find a Brumpton but did find a Brampton in Ontario). Rhoda had a marriage intention with John Stone (date to come). More information to follow.
