I know that the same first names were often used--over and over. My Springmeyer family was from Hanover, but stayed in New York City. They were in the furniture business--cabinet makers, etc. My triple great grandfather's daughter Louise married John Henry Belter. Their furniture is in the White House and in museums.

My Frederick could not be found in census records past 1860, yet other information stated that he continued to live into the 1900s. His daughter Ida is listed. She married a William Dusing.

i have often wondered if the Iowa Springmeyers and the Nevada Springmeyers are related to my New York Springmeyers.
