I think we might be related do you have someone in your family that had a daughter Jane Springmeyer?

Jacob Berger from France and Jane Springmeyer from Hanover, Germany met in Joliet Illinois. Jane Springmeyer owned a millinery shop. Jacob Berger worked for a livery stable between Crown Point, Indiana and Joilet, Illinois and drove a stage coach. After he married, they moved to a farm near St. John, Indiana. Later they moved to a farm on the Little Calumet River to be near the Chicago market.
On a plaque at the Berger Cemetery, in the 1850’s this area was a small German settlement called Sandridge. In 1853 this land was donated by Jacob Berger for the settlement’s cemetery and school. Many early pioneers are buried here and the original Berger School was built here. sandridge is now known as Dolton, Illinois.
