Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum

will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
Beginning on father's line, William D.R. Sproat, b. Borgue, Scotland; parents Robert Sproat, b. 31 Oct 1844, m. Elizabeth McMillan, b. 24 July 1854, All came to U.S. in 1903. Robert's parents, Hugh Sproat and Mary McMillan. All apparently from Kircudbright area, Castle Douglas and Borgue. I have info on Robert and Elizabeth to present. Elizabeth's parents came to Idaho and named the sheep ranch they settled Mayfield, after their home in Scotland. Don't know exact date, but was prob. 1880's.
When anyone mentions Kircudbright my ears perk up, have a feeling we are all related somewhere back there.
In search of info and willing to share what I have and will find in the future.
