There is still a lot I don't know about our
Sproat family history. I will provide a short
summary of what I do know. If anyone has a connection please email me.

My g.g.g.grandfather was George Sproat and he married Agnes Hastie in
or about 1817 in Kirkcudbright, Scotland. I think they had a few
children however the only one I know about is my g.g.grandfather George
Sproat (born about 1825). It looks like George and Agnes immigrated
to Canada around 1840 with their family and settled in the Seaforth

My g.g.grandfather was George Sproat and his wifes name was
Mary. They were both born in Scotland. They had the following children:
James Black Sproat (my great grandfather)b. 1863, d.1930
Isabella Sproat b. 1854
Adam Sproat b. 1857
Agnes Elizabeth Sproat b. 1865
George Sproat b. 1862
John Sproat b about 1865
David Sproat b 1867
Mary Sproat b. 1870

My great grandfather James Black Sproat married Jennie Taylor Reid in 1867
in Seaforth. They had one child, my grandfather George Roy Sproat who was
born on April 17, 1888.

Thank you so much for your help.
