Sproat's of Lancaster County, PA

My name is David L. Sproat and my wife is Agnes L. Sproat! My late GF, George C. Sproat(Sprout)told me that his GGF came from "Galloway"? in the "North of Ireland" somewhere and that they were Presbyterians. He thought his GGF's name was "John" X. Sproat. I am interested in learning of the history of a Thomas, John and Hugh Sproat of Kirkculbright, Scotland who I think may possibly be my ancestors. The brothers(?) three sailed from Kirkculbright in 1774 on "The Adventure" of Liverpool and arrived in NY? in the spring of 1774. I have found a John and Hugh Sproat in the 1790 census and 1800 census in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in Little Brittian Township, but have been unsuccessful in proving and documenting any connections. Any information on the Lancaster PA Sprouts/Sproats or Kirkculbright Sproats would be appreciated.
Possible Lancaster Sproat Lineage:
John Sproat- Kirkbt., B. Scotland 1750???
Robert Sproat - B. Lancaster, PA c.1700???
Joseph Sprout - B. Mt. Joy, PA 1818
Henry Sprout - B. Landisville, PA 1842
George Sproat - B. Cambria Co. PA 1871
Francis Sproat - B. Pittsburgh, PA 1908
David L. Sproat - B. Pittsburgh, PA 1945
David A. Sproat - B. Pittsburgh, PA 1968

Any iformation would be appreciated,
