Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

I am not sure if I can connect you to the right James Sproat, but I am the great-great granddaughter of James and Jemima Sproat of Wyandot Co., OH. They had three children, Alexander, Margaret Elizabeth and Anna. Margaret Elizabeth is my great-grandmother. Your note caught my eye because the parents of my James Sproat were Alexander Sproat and Eleanor Gourlay. My James was born around 1797 and his family was, I believe, from PA. There are some very good Sproat researchers I can put you in touch with but feel free to contact me at jenlou@wi.rr.com Sharon
