John Spruill, Jr. married Sarah Currell, daughter of William Currell on 4-15-1766 in Tyrrell Co., NC. They had William Spruill, b abt 1767, George C. Spruill b abt 1768, and Gabriel Spruill b abt 1770. One of the marriage books list Sarah as Sarah Caswell, but I believe the will is proof that she was a Currell.

Does anyone have any information on William Currell? He left a will in Tyrrell as follows:

Will of William Currell (abstracted)
16 Oct. 1770. My wife to have her third of all my estate. To my son Gorge Waache (I believe should be Wallace, husband of daughter Mary) 1 shilling sterling. To my son John Spruill the....? Rest of my estate to be divided between the rest of my children, only value of 1 negro given to Fraley. Wm. Currell. Wit: William Ansell: John Broom. Apparently probated Feb. Term 1775. Tyrrell Co. North Carolina
