I have a little on this family:
1-William Dale Welden, son of Jonathan Weldon and Mary Elizabeth Hanks , was born 17 1781 in Virginia, Pittsylvirginiania County 1 and died on 28 May 1860 in Georgia, Hart County, at age 1940.
William married Nancy Spruill , daughter of John Spruill and Ruth Mitchell Nash.
They had seven children: Dicy Lavinia, Mary, Sarah, Nancy, Wilborn, Jonathan , and Jonathan Pearman.
2-Dicy Lavinia Welden was born about 1827.
2-Mary Welden.
2-Sarah Weldon was born in 1810 in Anderson County, South Carolina. Sarah married John Nipper Shirley about 1833. They had six children: James Pressley, Caroline, Dessie, (No Given Name), Nipper , and William.
3-James Pressley Shirley was born in Nov 1842 in South Carolina 1 and died 1919 in Royston, Georgia, about age 76.
James married Rosa E. Shirley. They had nine children: Cora Lee, Dewitt Townsend, Minnie Mae, Ray Alexander, Perry Glenn, Mattie Rozelle, Lucy Bell, Alans Jackson , and Sarah Louise.
James next married Sarah Burnette. They had seven children: Patrick John, James Arthur, Siberia, Mary Etta, Susie Irene, Annie Jewel , and Alice.
3-Caroline Shirley
3-Dessie Shirley
3-Nipper Shirley
3-William Shirley
2-Nancy Weldon was born about 1816. Nancy married Edward Freeman.
2-Wilborn Weldon.
2-Jonathan Welden.
2-Jonathan Pearman Weldon.
Jonathan married Amie Shirley. They had one child: Pearman A.
3-Pearman A. Weldon. Pearman married Lucy Melissa Hobby . They had one child: James Foster.
