Major mystery in my search for Turner D. Spruill. 1850 census of Washington County lists a Turner Dashashield, age 7, living with Zeph D. Spruill, wife Hulda, and 4 other children. 1860 Census shows Turner Spruill, age 17, living with Zepheniah D. Spruill, wife Hulda, and 3 other children. My GGFather Turner D. Spruill (listed on license as Turner DaShield), married Sarah Caroline Moore 1/20/1870. My GMother's name was Hulda, so I'm seeing a a possible link to Zeph's wife. Turner & Caroline moved to Elizabeth City (don't know when)and they both died there. Death certificates lists his father as Zeph Spruill. I'm trying to find out where Turner Dashashield was before the 1950 census. Any and all help in getting me in the right direction on this would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.
