Did Nehemiah Spruill b1729 participate in the Revolutionary Way?

Many members of the Spruill family participated in the Revolutionary War. Samuel Spruill b1676 served in the Provincial Assembly from 1754 until his death in 1760. One of his sons Nehemiah Spruill b1729 built the first bridge across the Scuppernong River near Cool Spring (now the town of Creswell) during early colonial times. Does anyone have information regarding Nehemiah's part in the Revolutionary Way? Was building the bridge considered important to the revolutionary war effort. Any help would be most appreciated.
