While I do not have any leads on his parents (yet), I do know where he and his family lived, died and are buried. He and Mahala Rhoda Lawley married 22 Aug. 1864 in Shelby County, Alabama. They had three children (maybe more): 1) Jackson "Jack" b: abt. 1862 2) M. S. b: abt. 1864 3) Gilbert B. "Gip" b: 17 jul 1866, d: 3 jul 1905 "Gil" is buried at Lawley's Chapel Cemetery, located near Dyke's Mill, Shelby County, Alabama (I have photos of some of the grave markers in this cemetery...) Gilbert Sprueill married "Sallie" Ramsey: "Marriage 1 S. J. (Sallie) RAMSEY b: 11 Nov 1866 * Married: 24 Feb 1887 in St. Clair County, Alabama Children 1. Bertie SPRUELL b: ABT 1887 [marr: BROWNING] 2. Lillie SPRUELL b: 21 Jul 1888 [marr: PROCTER] 3. Mytrle SPRUELL b: 11 Jul 1894" [marr: DILLARD] [According to database notes found on Rootsweb.com] I will see if I can find him and his family in online/transcribed census data. Please contact me, sometime. I have many SPRUIELL/SPRUILL ancestors and kin -- in Alabama, Georgia, Texas, the Carolinas, and elsewhere. -- Cathy Abernathy http://spruiellsusa.wordpress.com Notify Administrator about this message?
