Unfortunately, this area of my research is very vague.
I discovered mention of teh SPurgeon name in my grandfather's records, and contrary to the information I had, it appears that the "Unknown Cooke" is actually female and married a "Mr" Spurgeon.
Samuel Cooke d.1815, Norfolk
He married Ann
Their children were:
Samuel d. Abt. 1870 (son - John d. Abt. 1900)
"Unknown Female" m. Mr SPURGEON
I know that thisis very thin, but just to add to the woes, I am not clear as to whether he family were "COOKE" or "COOK" at this stage.
My guess is that "Unknown Female" married Mr SPURGEON in the mid 1800s.
It is the proverbial needle in a haystack !
