Ruth Anne Spurgeon, 91, Orlando, FL, passed away peacefully
on February 11, 2011.

She was born Ruth McClanahan, on January 22, 1920, in
Knoxville, TN.

Ruth married Walter Carl Spurgeon, in 1941, and they were
honored to have worked for the US Government Energy
Department in Oakridge, TN, from 1942 until the end of
WWII. Ruth and Carl relocated to Florida 'God's Country'
in 1947.

Ruth was adored by her family and touched the lives of her
many friends and neighbors, who will always remember her
style, her grace, her wit, her love of gardening and her
zest for life. Until her late 80's, Ruth was still walking
at least 1 mile per day. Ruth was a member of Conway
United Methodist Church.

A deeply devoted Mother to her three children, Ruth is
survived by two daughters, Patti Swann, of Atlanta, GA,
and Debbie Spurgeon, of Knoxville, TN; son, Mike Spurgeon,
of Orlando, FL; two grandchildren, Christopher Swann, of
Houston, TX, and Allison Zong, of Knoxville, TN; great
granddaughter, Masen Morris, of Belleville, TX, who will
deeply miss their 'Nana'; her sister, Hazel Clarke, of
Knoxville, TN; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m., on Tuesday,
February 15, 2011, at Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home, 301
NE Ivan hoe Blvd. Orlando, FL 32804.

Funeral services will be held at Conway United Methodist
Church, 3401 S. Conway Rd., Orlando, FL, 32812 on
Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at 1 p.m.
