My great-grandfather was Houston Spurlin and Minnie (Mintie Felts). They had also daughters and one other son, William Andrew Spurlin (Hurley) who was born November 1913.Grandpa Hurley's wife was Stella Bakerwhose parents were Dalphus Baker and Elizabeth Felts.Do you know Allen Spurlin? He is my Great Uncle Preston's grandson. Are you Allen's sister or do you descend from another branch of the family? My mother's maiden name was Betty Spurlin and she married Charles Edward Miller, Sr in 1954.My fathher died in 1985.In 1997 she married Marvin L. Crowder of Portsmouth.
My grandfather Hurley's birth certificate has Minnie instead of Mintie.I speak German fluently and lived there in the Rhineland Palatine (Rheinland-Pfalz) for some time.Uncle Wesley said he met several German distant cousins for the Spurlins and Feltses while he lived there. Rosamond Felts. You cannot any more German than that. Allen seems to be a nice fellow. He has sent me some pictures.I had a few; however, they were not in good shape.I do hope you will contact me. My wife's name is Nancy.
