It's all right there in the book. Your George W. Sroufe is one of the mystery men that the late author never could figure out where he belonged in the long line from Sebastian (b. 1744). Weirdly enough, his WIFE was also a Sroufe, daughter of Amos, granddaughter of Adam, great granddaughter of Sebastian Sr.

I'll dig out the book and reference the appropriate quotations.
