James Stacpole/Stagpole/Stackpole md Margaret Warren.
It is probable that he was a Prisoner of the Battle of Dunbar (aka Worcester), ordered by Cornwallis to be shipped to America with Richard Leader, who founded the community of 'the Great Works' at Berwick, ME) on the ship UNITY.
James divided his homestead between his sons Philip & Samuel.
Philip md (1)Mercy Thompson, (2) Martha Stevens, widow of Thomas Stevens.
Philip died 9/30/1761 at Somersworth, Dover, Stratford, NH.
In his will, Philip names his (2)wife Martha; children by 1st wife: sons Joshua, James, William, Philip and daughters Sarah Hall and Lydia Frost.
Son Joshua married (1)Lucy Baker (2)Abigail Hobbs
Son James b 1714, bapt 3/15/1729 when his mother, Mercy,joined the church at South Berwick, ME.
He married Elizabeth Pierce abt 1740 at South Berwick, ME.She was b 5/17/1717 Dover, Strafford, ME, d/o Benjamin Pierce and Hannah Ash.
