origins of staddon family?

My grandfather was John Henry Staddon, a farmer, born in 1880 in the village of Week St.Mary, Cornwall, England. He was the first of 14 children born to John and Ann (nee Cowling) Staddon. John Staddon Snr was a cordwainer, which meant he made shoes and leather goods.
I have been holidaying in Devon and Cornwall all my life and the name Staddon is very popular in those counties, as you will see if you go into the 1881 UK census website.
