6/18/04: My great-grandparents were John Marion Stagner and Malinda Ann Rouse Stagner. They moved from Pike County,
Alabama, to East Texas and lived and farmed in Wood County.
Texas. They had several children: John, William, Ada, Dora, Mag, Barnie Columbus (my maternal grandfather). This information needs verification for I may have left out others. There are still many descendants and one branch of them (William's children) has a large reunion every year in
Texas. My grandfather, Barnie Columbus Stagner, married Eulalie Montalie Billings in December 1901 and they lived and farmed in east Texas before moving to Dallas, Texas, in
1918. Barnie & Eula had 5 children: Thelma (b @1902 d 1904); Vennis (b 1904 d @1988); Eloise, my mother, born 12-13-06/d 1-24-94); Mozelle, b 6-19-09/d 4-23-04); Jack, b 1912/d WWII 1943).
There are many descendants and they live in Texas, Georgia, Connecticut, and New York.
