Colonial PA Stagners

I just discovered a major error in the York County, Pennsylvania Will Abstracts that solves a puzzle for Brandons and could open an avenue for Stagners.

The Abstracts, widely circulated, give the 1759 will of Nicholas Stagner of Windsor Township incorrectly. (Resulting in the ERRONEOUS Rootsweb copy here -
http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/pa/york/wills/willabstrp-s.txt )

For some unknown reason, the body of Stagner's will was confused with the body of the 13 June 1763 will of Richard Sadler of Huntington Township, whose wife was Mary and children were Richard, Isaac and Mary married to a John Brandon. I have viewed both originals and have copies.

The correct beneficiaries for Nicholas Stagner's 17 April 1759 will (proven 29 November 1764) are:
Wife Catharina, son Jacob, daughter Sharlota, daughter Catharina, son Henry, son Peter.

Maybe an orphaned Pete Stagner line can finally come home?

Sally Brandon
