This really is curious information. The "Jane" listed here as "wife" was born about the same year as Elizabeth Jane Johnston Stainbrook. The birthdates are all correct for Fred and the Stainbrook "Chronick" children. One might suppose that Eliza Jane moved Fred and her children (what happened to Amos and Belle?) to Vernon County MO where she lived as wife to John Chronick, bore his son Clarence, and claimed Fred was a grandfather. I'm hoping to hear from Dan Stainbrook or anybody else who can help clear this up. I am the great-grandson of Ulysses Grant Stainbrook.
