Having been looking in to the family tree a bit closer this last week I have found that one of my relatives married a Stains.
George Stains (b. 1808) married Ann CARTER of Wickford, Essex. George appears on the 1851 Census, age 51, living in Wickford. They had five children:
Susan STAINS (b. 1832)
Susan married a Harry THREADGOLD. She appears on the 1861 Census, age 29, as Susan THREADGOLD and living in Wickford.
James STAINS (b. 1836)
He appears on the 1851 Census, age 15, living in Wickford. He married Harriet CLAYDON. They had four children; Agnes, Charles, Kate and William.
Thomas STAINS (b. 1843)
Thomas appears on the 1851 Census, age 8, living in Wickford.
I have Mary marrying an Aaron HAYDON (b. 1822). Aaron appears on the 1861 Census, age 39, living in Wickford. They had seven children; Arthur (b. 1865), Charles, Elizabeth, Emily (b. 1855), George (b. 1852), Harry (b. 1867) and Herbert (b. 1862)
William STAINS (b. 1834)
William appears on the 1851 Census, age 17, living in Wickford.
