hi,

my branch of the family are resident in liverpool since end 19th century but are descended from the stalkers of hesket hall, hesket newmarket, wigton, in northumbria. i seem to remember seeing some carlisle mentions in our family records - my guess is that your branch is from the same part of the world. joseph is a common stalker name at that time but the faulders bit should make it easier for you to find him. try consulting the parish records in carlisle/wigton area.
