QUINCY - Margaret I. (Stalker) Devin, 99, of Quincy, a retired bookkeeper and secretary, died Thursday at Logan Health Care Clinic after a brief illness.

Mrs. Devine worked for Frizell Ladder Company in North Quincy for several years, retiring in 1995. She had previsously worked as the town clerk for Plaistown, N.H.

She was born in Quebec, Canada, raised and educated in Hudson, N.Y., and moved to Quincy in 1944.

Mrs. Devine was a member of the Houghs Neck Congregational Church in Quincy.

Wife of the late Thomas J. Devin, she is survived by two sons, James W. Devine of Maine and Gordon S. "Joe" Devine of Quincy; a brother, Galen Stalker of Plaistow, N.H.; eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren adn great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Dennis Sweeny Funderal Home, 74 Elm St., Quincy. Burial will be in Hills Farm Cemetery, Hudson, N. H.

Visiting is 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funderal home.
