I am helping a friend trace her Stallman family. Really need some help! Her gfather is listed as Harry Stallman born abt. 1874 in W. Va (VA.). Can not find him listed on any of the Census records. He married Tillie Atwood abt 1898 (can't find that record either) in Chicago Ill. They had two children: Elizabeth b. 1903 Chicago and Granville born 1906 Philadelphia. Because of the name Granville being given to the son we are thinking that the father of Harry could be Granville Harrison Stallman born abt 1852 Va. son of William and Barbary Stallman. A marriage record is found for Granville H. Stallman and Phebe Scullin 1874 Wood Co. West VA. Making this the right time for a son Harry. A census record in 1880 Hamilton Co Ohio list a H. G. Stallman born abt 1852 Va. his has wife listed as Nellie born in Holland and five childres: Anna E., Cora, Janie, Sarah and Willie H. In 1900 Census Nellie is listed again in Hamilton Co Ohio but she reports herself as a widow. Harry nor Granville can be found in the 100 or 1910 census. Granville reappears in the 1920/1930 Census Chicaho Illinois. In 1917 there is a marriage record for Granville and Eugenie Line, 20 Jan 1917 Chicago. His death record is given as 25 Oct 1939 Chicago,Illinois. Tillie Atwood Stallman is found in 1910/1920/1930 Seattle, King, Washington with/near her parents. Between 1880/1920 Granville Harrison Stallman is found applying for patents while living in Philadelphia and Chicago. He is also listed in some city directories for Ohio and Chicago during this time. Any help with trying Harry and Granville Stallman together would be great.
