ROANOKE COUNTY VA DEED Bk__P.353 September 25,1851
This Indenture made this 25 day of September 1851 between Elizabeth Redden,Benjamin Stanback and Margrate his wife and Aaron Stanback,Elisha Hogan and Nancy his wife,Richard Pane and Barbary his wife,of the one part and Jacob Murray of the other part,witnessth that whereas the late Philip Stanback died seized and possessed of a certain tract or parcel of land containing sixty one acres lying in the County of Roanoke on the South side of the Roanoke River and whereas the above named Elizabeth Redden,Benjamin Stanback and Margarate his wife & Aaron Stanback,Elizabeth Hogan and Nancy his wife,Richard Pane and Barbary his wife,heirs and distribute of the estate of the said Philip Stanback deceased,for and in consideration of the sum of seven hundred & fifty dollars,current money of Virginia to them in hand paid by the said Jacob Murray,the receipt whereof the said______doth hereby acknowledge hath granted,bargained,sold,and conveyed unto the said Jacob Murray the above name tract of land containing sixty acrea be the same more or less and the said tract or parcel of land is part of a tract of 120 acreas of land which was conveyed to the said Philip Stanback by Benjamin Whiteneck and Martha his wife by deed of Bargain and sale bearing date the 14th day of June 1796 and of record in the Clerk office of the County Court of Botetourt and the land adjoins the lands of the heirs of Green Richardson dec.,Philip Edington and James Edington to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land of 61 acreas be the same more or less,with the appentures thereto belonging to him the said Jacob Murray,his heirs and assigns forever,and Elizabeth Redden,Benjamin Stanback and Margarate his wife,Aaron Stanback,Elisha Hogan and Nancy his wife,Richard Pane and Barbary his wife for themselves their heirs executors administrators,doth hereby coverant and agree to forever warrant and defend the title to the land and the appentenances which belonging unto the said Jacob Murray,free from the claims of any person or persons whomsoever in witness whereof the said ____have hereunto set their hand and seals the day and year first hereon written.
