This deed made the 27th day of October 1855 between Elizabeth Redden,Benjamin Stanback & Peggy his wife,Elisha Hogan & Nancy his wife and Richard Pane & Barbary his wife Heirs & distributors of the late Aaron Stanback of the first part & John D. Edington of the second part.Witnessth that in consideration of the sum of five hundred & fifty dollars ______doth grant with the said John D.Edington with general warranty all of a certain piece or tract of land lying in the county of Roanoke containing fifty acreas more or less,bounded as follows-Beginning at a small pine & 2 black oak saplings on the west side of the road leading to Richardson Mill on Back Creek thence nearly along the road S42 1/2 E 60 poles to a stake at the road thence S 35 1/2 W 126 poles croping a branch at 84 poles to a burnt pine stump & sowerwood,thence N 46 1/2 W 69 poles to a double chestnut on a ridge corner to the land of John Edington thence with a line of the same N 40 128 poles croping a branch to the beginning.
