Doing this will be a great thank you to all the hard working Stambach, Stambaugh, etc. researchers who, have passed on, currently or will in the future, reach backward in time to get acquainted with their ancestors.
Helen Stambaugh Olson and Ray Grove worked closely together and Ray Grove sent me thefollowing message, just before his death, concerning Helen Stambaughís book STAMBAUGH 1686-1986:
"Helen Stambaugh Olson and I were in accord that her information about JacobStambach/Stambaugh in the first chapter of her book was incorrect.
I am thoroughly convinced that the children of Felix Stambachís son Johannes Stambach & Maria Catharina Meyer were the first Stambaughs to arrive in Pennís colony and it was as I havewritten it."
So, which researcher hasnít got tangled up when so many people with the same last name, the same or close to the same birth information, and living in the same location name their childrenthe same names.
Even with Helen having Jacob wrong, that still leaves 501 pages filled with info on the descendants of Nickolaus Stambaugh and will make a great addition to your bookshelf!
As far as I am concerned, Helenís book is a great addition to my collection.
If you a descendant of Nickolaus Stambaugh 1722-1759, you need to know that once these books are gone, they are gone!
