Leman Stumbaugh was born in Tazewell, County, Illinois.
The son of George Stumbaugh, & Elizabeth Ann Stumbaugh.
His children:

Louella,William, Dorothea, and Nina.

His father's tombstone is in the Stumbaugh cemetery, in Woodford County, Illinois, his death was listed in the year 1863. His name on the tombstone looks to be George L. Only census I find him in at this time is 1860 for Tazewell, Illinois, says he was born in PA.

Leman's mother Elizabeth Ann Stumbaugh was born, (according to 1900 census) in May 1833. Her mother Nancy Adams was born in Ohio on the 12 of Feb 1812, the daughter of Percival Adams & Elizabeth Breckenridge. Nancy Adams died after 1900, she is listed in the census with her daughter Elizabeth at that time. Elizabeth Ann's father was John Stumbaugh, born 18 Apr 1809 in Franklin County Ohio. He lived on land in Illinois originally purchased by his father. John Stumbaugh married Nancy Adams in Franklin County Ohio on 30 Jan 1833, he died 24 Feb 1871 & is buried in the Stumbaugh Cemetery.

I don't know who George Stumbaugh's (Leman's paternal grandparents) are.
