You may be interested in some posts by Scott Krater on Rootsweb. I got interested in his family because they moved to Berrien County, Michigan, near where I now live.

www.boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.stamm/157.1.1/mb.ashx is one of his posts.

Scott said, "I'm the 5th GRGrandson of Johann Adam STAMM who moved to Tusseyville, Potter Twp., Centre Co., PA from Bern Twp., Berks Co., PA. His Grandfather(Werner STAMM) came from Langenselbold, Hesse, Germany."

It's a shame that this family appears to be unrelated to my STEM family. Mine settled in Montgomery Co., PA, for three generations. Some of the grandchildren of my Konrad Stamm/Stem ended up in northern Maryland. My Catherine Stem married Ismael Owen and lived in Chester County, PA, for less than one generation. If you have come across a Balthasar Stem (son of Konrad) who was born in Germany, I would love to hear more about him.
