Bonnie, Your Nicholas Stamm had a brother Frederick Stamm, Sr.(1759-1827).  This Frederick is mygggg grandfather.  If my info is correct, the father ofNicholas was Werner Stamm (1726-1795). Some sources hadWerner born in Berne, Switzerland.  However, later researchshows him born in Langenselbold, Hesse, Germany.Werner arrived in Philadelphia Sept 21, 1742.  He settledin Berks County, PA which was a part of Lancaster Countyuntil 1752. Werner was married to Catharine ElizabethBachemeyer on May 26, 1748 in Marion Twp, now Berks Co. PA
I have additional Stamm information if you are interested.

You can e-mail me directly or respond on this Stamm
Family forum.
