Michael,
I was wondering if you have ever had a chance to read the book "My Hometown" by William Davis. It is a book about Bedias.
It states that in 1906 A.M.(Arch) McDonald and William Smith Stampley operated a furniture store in Bedias.

Arch McDonald was my great-great-great grandfather. His sister Osey Mahala McDonald Garrett was married to Jessie Smith Stampley. The McDonald's and extended family all moved to Grimes County Texas from Yazoo County Mississippi around Dec. of 1874.

I am going to the Texas State Archives soon and will do some checking because I think that I have seen somewhere that there was a David Stampley who lived in Grimes county before 1874 but I don't remember were I saw this.

I hope that this is of some help to you.
Dawn
