William Stampley b. 1779 (Henry & Margaret Baird)

I have a suspicion (no proof) that this may be my William Stampley who may have moved to Baton Rouge, LA and married Catherine Thomas and had the following children: Elizabeth b. 1822 & William John b. Dec. 15, 1824. The puzzle fits since his last child with Patience was born abt. 1817.
Any info on this line is appreciated.
